Abstract

Pariwisata merupakan sektor yang berperan penting dalam perekonomian nasional. Salah satu bentuk pariwisata yang sedang berkembang di kancah nasional maupun internasional adalah wisata halal atau wisata yang ramah wisatawan muslim. Namun, pengembangan pariwisata halal di Indonesia tidak lepas dari berbagai hambatan yaitu mengenai regulasi pemerintah, partisipasi masyarakat, penyediaan infrastruktur, permasalahan sertifikat halal, serta kesiapan sumber daya manusia. Salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan wisata halal adalah konsep desa wisata. Desa Wisata Sekapuk Kabupaten Gresik potensial dikembangkan menjadi desa wisata halal karena memiliki karakteristik ramah muslim. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 pendekatan, yaitu studi kepustakaan dan penelitian lapangan guna menghasilkan usulan alternatif konsep yang bersifat konstruktif untuk mengembangkan Desa Wisata Sekapuk Kabupaten Gresik sebagai destinasi wisata halal. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan adanya potensi dan peluang berupa ketersediaan infrastruktur wisata, dan pembangunan spot wisata yang mampu mencerminkan nilai-nilai syariah. Dengan ini, peneliti dapat menawarkan 2 alternatif strategi pengembangan Desa Wisata Sekapuk, yaitu sertifikasi halal pada destinasi wisata serta mengembangkan wisata berbasis pengalaman.
